Mike Geiger has worked on a whole heap of shows, most famously as an animator on “Ren & Stimpy”, and it shows. Country Ghost is his new web series. And though it’s obviously been simplified for the interweb, it retains classic cartoon looks. I love the timeless 2D style, jazzy music and proper “cartoon” sound effects.
Country Ghost addresses themes we can relate to; alienation, theft, being a hillbilly. There’s problem solving too, like; a ghost is stealing your hillbilly liquor, try shooting said ghost in the face with a shotgun. It’s like the good old days where you could just drop an anvil on your problems. Freakin’ heart warming. Watch it!
