Still from the Earth's CoreNow that 4mations has moved to Scotland, we thought we’d take you on a tour of our local animation degree shows to bring you the best of our young talent.

Home to animation studios like Ink and a strong gaming industry, Dundee has a vibrant creative community and a strong tradition in arts education.  And apparently more sunshine than anywhere else in Scotland, but this could just be Dundonian Propaganda.

For the first time this year, Ducan of Jordanstone’s degree show is taking place in Vision, a funky, lofty space near the waterfront not far from the train station and the city centre.

The animation students make good use of their extensive space to display a compelling selection of life drawings, development work, and film posters.

There’s an eclectic mix of films: superheroes rub shoulders with gorillas and robots, monsters get fed, assassinations are foiled. The storytelling is sometimes a little bit shaky, but with short running times and a range of techniques on display, from Indian Ink to accomplished CGI, it’s a pleasant viewing experience that will leave you hopeful for these young graduates.

  1. Last Week I watch animated movie “Avtaar”. I like it too much. Specially I like special effects used in the films.
